Our Love Story

Cameron and I started dating in highschool, although we have know each other since attending middle school together at a local charter school. The summer before we began dating, I was actually dating his best friend at the time.  Cameron told me that when it didn’t work out between us that I should give him a call. We attended two rival highschools in our town and were both on their swim teams, and that is where our love story began. Our teams practiced at the same time, at the same pool, but in separate lanes. Cameron began occasionally texting me after practice.  Eventually one night after a swim meet he asked me to grab dinner with him, although I was on my way to dance class so I had to decline. BUT, we went on our first date that weekend. He picked me up at my house and we went to the movies and watched The Blind Side. A few weeks later, we started dating on November 29, 2009. A few months after we were dating Cameron signed 5 years of his life to the United States Marine Corps. He is my prince charming. He has swept me off of my feet since the beginning. We spent almost every day together the summer before he left for bootcamp. He shipped off to Parris Island, SC on September 20, 2010. I was heartbroken those 3 months without him. Although, I did recieve 58 letters! That really is what got me through, knowing that we had each other and always would. Every day I spend with him is the new best day of my life, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. He is now stationed in Cherry Point, NC and I visit all the time. This year I got the opportunity to attend his Marine Corps Ball on November 8, 2011. After the ceremony and the dinner, we headed outside to take some pictures with our friends. As we were taking pictures Cameron got down on one knee and proposed! Everyone from his unit was outside on the balcony watching an cheering. It was amazing, I never will forget that night. <33 We plan to get married in 2 or 3 years, no rush considering I am just a freshman in college! In February Cameron will leave for a YEAR :(((( on his first deployment. This will just be another bump in our relationship that I know we can push through. I cannot wait to spend my life with him! :)
